Few facility floors take as much constant punishment as those in a manufacturing plant. Often during three shifts, running ‘round the clock, these floors are typically subjected to:
The abrasion from high pedestrian and vehicular traffic
Chemicals, solvents, acids, oils, fuels and various other liquids being spilled or leaked by personnel or equipment
Heavy equipment, often vibrating endlessly on the concrete substrate
Outside elements due to inclement weather - such as rain, snow, dirt and sand - being tracked indoors
These factors can have devastating effects on a concrete substrate, causing cracks, pitting, staining and various other types of deterioration. This deterioration, in turn, can have repercussions of its own, including trips and falls incidents for both employees and visitors, damage to equipment such as forklifts—all of which can result in decreased productivity, possible downtime and costly repairs.
Tennant 25 HPS is the premier, 25 mil system with a gloss finish. This three layer, high performance system is high solids, with low odor and low VOC. It is applied with two coats of epoxy and topcoated with a light stable and chemical resistant urethane, Eco-HPS® 100 (High Protection System). This system can be applied indoors during working hours.
Tennant 25 HTS is the premier 25 mil system with a satin finish. This three layer, high performance system is high solids, with low odor and low VOC. It is applied with two coats of epoxy and topcoated with a light stable, chemical resistant urethane, Eco-HTS™ 100 (High Traffic System), providing slight texture for added slip resistance and durability. This system can be applied indoors during working hours.
Tennant Shop Floor SB (Single Broadcast) is a four layer, nominal 1/16" system, with a broadcast of silica sand. This economical, satin finish workhorse system provides durability and slip resistance for high traffic areas.
Tennant Wall DF (Decorative Flake), is a four layer, UV-resistant wall system. Colored vinyl flake chips are broadcast onto the wall. This system is both beautiful and durable and has a satin finish.
Tennant Wall TQ (Troweled Quartz), is a seven layer wall system. Colored quartz aggregate is mixed with an epoxy and troweled onto the wall. This creates a thick, durable and beautiful system, available in either a gloss or satin finish.
These have been the popular favorite floor finish for virtually all types of commercial and industrial facilities for a variety of reasons:
They are highly durable, which affords them excellent longevity, offering savings on costly repairs and downtime
They are highly stress and abrasion resistant and can withstand heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic, as well as equipment vibration
No polishing, waxing or buffing, so they are easy and inexpensive to clean and maintain
Can be used to repairing damaged concrete instead of pouring new concrete
The benefits of having a broad range of colors, styles and finishes are:
Light, bright colors with reflective finishes can help lighten an otherwise dark space, thus increasing visibility, helping keep employees safe, and creating an energizing environment
Specific areas, such as danger zones and walkways, can be labeled or marked off by different colors, providing “pride of place,” as well as safety and protection
Designs, using the company colors or even incorporating its logo, can help create an aesthetic space out of one that would otherwise be drab or boring
One size does not fit all, when it comes to production plants. Different types of facilities have completely different needs and requirements. Epoxies, urethanes, epoxy mortars, urethane mortars and even polyaspartics systems can be created to fix a facilities specific needs. This includes:
Varying levels of slip resistance
Moisture vapor control when needed
Chemical, oil, and fuel resistance in, say, laboratories or automobile plants
Seamless flooring that helps inhibits the growth of bacteria or other pathogens in pharmaceutical or food processing plants
Resistance to thermal shock wherever there are frequent changes of temperature
An ability to flex as the substrate moves for areas of heavy vibration
We offer many systems and products to address virtually any commercial or industrial facility, and we know it can be confusing. Our knowledgeable team is available for a consultation any time.
